A new approach to the whole world We are very pleased to bring you a new podcast series this week – a shorter, snapshot version of our popular Off the Record, entitled OTR – the Shorts. Our first outing brings you Timo Pfeiffer of Solactive discussing how to innovate index creation in a ‘boring’ space, detailing the Amundi Prime All Country World ETF, which launched in February this year, tracking the Solactive GBS Global Markets Large & Mid Cap USD Index. This ETF promptly raised USD790 million so clearly found its audience. Listen here to find out more.
We also turned to continental Europe for our feature this week, with Romain Thomas talking to Andrea Busi, CEO of Directa SIM, an Italian on-line trading platform which is offering ETFs from Fidelity, BNP Paribas, Amundi, DWS, iShares, VanEck and WisdomTree.
Busi says: "The further expansion of ETFs in Europe is linked to financial education activities which aim to build a community of investors who are prepared and
aware of investment choices. But ETF inflows are poised to challenge traditional investments in Europe as new launches, and increased education drive assets into this innovative product class."
The platforms have it in ETF distribution across Europe, as we discussed at IM Power’s Fund Forum last week, and we also had news of Franklin Templeton partnering with additional neobrokers across Europe, and Scalable Capital partnering with Amundi ETFs.
