| Pile it high European ETF assets soared in January according to all the regular data sources. Detlef Glow, Head of EMEA Research at LSEG Lipper, comments: "The European ETF industry enjoyed healthy inflows over the course of January 2024." January saw EUR21 billion flow into the industry.
Fiona Nicolson talked to Thomas Bonville of Clear Street this week, a US prime brokerage firm that offers a commentary on options use in ETFs. Considering product-specific trends in the ETF space at the moment, he comments: "We’ve observed that more managers are launching leveraged long/inverse ETFs and option-based ETFs to provide yield."
Income producing ETFs were one of the key topics at the third Exchange conference in sunny Florida where we spent the week, and hosted the inaugural US ETF Distribution Awards, voted on by financial advisers at the event.
