ETF Express European Awards 2023 winners announced

Yes, it is that time of the year again and here we are with a fresh batch of winners in the ETF service provider and ETF issuer categories. Our methodology, in this our 13th year of the popular event, is service providers are found through a nomination process from their peers, while ETF issuers are nominated through the Trackinsight database and then both categories of winners are voted on achieving a qualitative level of peer review.

Many congratulations to our winners who have won in what was an extraordinary year and are receiving their awards in a new year that seems to be even more extraordinary. Writing the editorial for the special report that we will publish featuring some of our winners, I noted that I have never written copy that was so heavily cautious as the economic situation in our major markets seems to be on a knife edge, with threatened systemic banking collapse and inflation and central government response to that inflation looming large over everything.

As ever, ETFs seem to be having a successful time of it – offering price discovery, keeping up with their promise of liquidity and maintaining transparency.

Many congratulations to all our winners in this year’s awards.

This week we also have an interview with Melody He, deputy CEO of CSOP, the first Chinese asset manager to establish an offshore presence. He notes that the appetite for ETFs has increased significantly, especially HK-listed ETPs as they have gained assets/liquidity. She also reports that the popular ones in Asia are the ones with high trading value and clear theme, such as CSOP Hang Seng Tech Index ETF.

Our first ETF Express podcast is still available, in partnership with Truss Edge, providers of front, middle and back-office software and services to ETFs. To listen to Athanasios Psarofagis of Bloomberg Intelligence, Detlef Glow from Refinitiv Lipper and me discussing all things ETF in Europe, please click here.
