All Rize for a new ETF provider
Our top piece this week is an interview with the team behind the newest ETF provider on the block, Rize ETF, launched by the team behind ETF Securities’ Canvas, that brought the first purpose-built thematic ETFs in robotics and cybersecurity to Europe. ETFs that now each have assets of over GBP1 billion. The new firm plans to launch two new thematic products in the coming weeks.
We also have a revisit to the world of cryptocurrencies, ETPs and the perennial attempt to get cryptos into ETFs. The ETP route seems to work pretty well with new proponents joining the campaign with ever more inventive structures. This feature on the whole subject contains comments and news from Amun, Grayscale, CoinShares (who have just hired ETF veteran Townsend Lansing) WisdomTree and Stack.
Other news this week is that Amundi had a very successful 2019 with record asset raisings, while the new interesting kid on the block, the semi-transparent ETF, gets taken out and examined by those clever people at Cerulli.
We also have a note on Coronavirus which is proving more contagious but less deadly than other virus outbreaks. ‘What effect will it have on portfolios?’asks factor analysts Style Analytics.
