| China ETFs prove unstoppable
This week brings a feature on the adaptability of China, source of the pandemic but up and about again, offering investment returns which easily outperform the country’s emerging market status and also rising up the ranks for its domestic fund industry. We interviewed a number of providers and commentators in the China ETF sector for this piece.
We also have a piece on the Morningstar US ETF fees survey which reveals that the average expense ratio paid by fund investors is half of what it was two decades ago. Investors have saved billions, Morningstar says.
We also have the Invesco Gold survey, the inaugural survey, which celebrates the enormous growth in demand for gold via ETPs – demand increased by over 300 per cent year-on-year when comparing Q1 2019 with Q1 2020, the survey says.
In our comment section this week, we have Edward Monrad, Head of European Equity Market Structure, Optiver Europe, writing that recent market volatility has sparked the usual calls for bans on short selling. “While regulators’ intentions to reduce stock market declines and diminish volatility are admirable, short-selling bans have shown to do just the opposite,” he says.
We are busy working on our etfLIVE North America Digital Summit in October this year. All the information is here, plus a link to register for a place…
Also, voting is now open for the ETF Express US Awards 2020. You can cast your vote here.
