| Gold back on the agenda In the week that saw the World Gold Council reporting the first net outflows from gold ETFs in 12 months, in comes Amplify with its gold offering, but this one comes with added leverage. Amplify’s Christian Magoon explains that his JGLD ETF is focusing on junior miners, thereby avoiding the dilution that some of the bigger gold ETFs have endured. Magoon also tells ETF Express about his firm’s asset increase on the back of themes, a theme in itself that we covered last week, and one that has become all dominating in 2020. Cerulli’s latest US report supports the theme, predicting the ETF industry to be set for further significant growth on the back of active ETFs and thematic ETFs. Meanwhile, Sage Advisory’s latest ESG survey urges would be ESG ETF investors to examine carefully before they invest, and Brown Brothers Harriman’s new C-Suite report believes that ETFs are going to benefit from fee wars. Finally, Columbia Threadneedle’s Gene Tannuzzo detailed the year in fixed income for us, in all its rollercoaster glory.
