With one ASX stock set to play a vital role
| Dear Reader, There’s long been a stigma around nuclear power. But as Europe tries to sever its $1 billion-a-day dependence on Russian energy, that sentiment is changing rapidly. Belgium decided to reopen two nuclear reactors that were scheduled for closure. France — which has the most nuclear plants in the region — recently pledged to open 14 more by 2050. And British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is following suit with eight new facilities by 2030, so that, in his words: ‘We are never again subject to the vagaries of global oil and gas prices, and can’t be blackmailed by people like Vladimir Putin.’ But there’s a critical flaw in this plan. Russia is still a major supplier of enriched uranium, a core component in nuclear reactors. If the EU wants nuclear power to be its ticket to energy independence, it has to look for fuel elsewhere. Which is where this tiny ASX small-cap stock comes in. Cheers, James Woodburn, Publisher, Fat Tail Investment Research |
