Victorian transport authority VicRoads says it will issue new driving licences to 342,000 people in the state who were affected by the massive data breach at telco Singtel Optus.

The state of Victoria will go to the polls on 26 November. Given that, it is easy to understand why the state's transport authority, VicRoads, has jumped ahead of the pack in saying it will issue new licences to those whose documents were compromised in the disastrous Singtel Optus data breach.

Apple has performed the best among big technology companies for the current quarter, posting US$90.1 billion (A$140.6 billion) in revenue, an increase of 8% year-on-year.

Tesla and SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk has assumed the same role at Twitter, after completing his US$44 billion (A$68.6 billion) takeover of the social media company.

Multi-cloud services provider VMware has issued a fix for a critical vulnerability in VMware Cloud Foundation which could have been exploited remotely.
