Por su misericordiaLee Salmos 33.17-19 Tú y yo merecemos el juicio de Dios porque hemos quebrantado su ley, porque hemos despreciado su amor, porque lo hemos ofendido y no lo hemos honrado. Eso lo hacemos cada vez que pecamos. Debiéramos ser consumidos por su justicia. Es solo gracias a la misericordia del Señor que no eres consumido. La Palabra de Dios te dice: “Por la misericordia de Jehová no hemos sido consumidos, porque nunca decayeron sus misericordias. Nuevas son cada mañana; grande es tu fidelidad” (Lamentaciones 3.22-23). Su misericordia se basa en su compasión por ti y esa compasión nunca falla. La misericordia de Dios nunca disminuye con el desánimo, la irritación o el tiempo. La Biblia dice que donde el pecado abunda, la gracia abunda mucho más (Romanos 5.20). Esas obras hacia ti nuevas son cada mañana. A Dios nunca se le agota la compasión. Cada día es un nuevo día con Él. ¡Qué maravilloso es pensar de este modo al comenzar el día! Es un nuevo día y toda la misericordia y compasión de Dios está a tu disposición para ese día. ¿Por qué tiene Dios tal misericordia y compasión? ¿Por qué son nuevas hoy aunque ayer fuera un día malo, decepcionante o pecaminoso? Porque: Grande es su fidelidad. La fuente de donde surge la misericordia y la compasión de Dios es su pacto. Cuando Dios hace una promesa, la cumple. Durante los cuarenta años que Israel anduvo en el desierto y a lo largo de toda la Biblia, Dios ha prometido misericordia y compasión a los que confían en Él. Dios es siempre fiel a sí mismo y a su Palabra. Dios no puede mentir ni puede quebrantar una promesa suya. La Biblia afirma: “Si fuéremos infieles, él permanece fiel; El no puede negarse a sí mismo” (2 Timoteo 2.13). Reflexión: Reconozco que estoy rodeado de la misericordia y la compasión del Dios que cumple su palabra incluso para con sus imperfectos hijos. |
