Dear friend,
As we navigate through the challenges of life, there are moments that define our purpose, moments that remind us why we do what we do. Today, I want to share with you a story that took place earlier this week, one that encapsulates the essence of Zaka's mission.
On Sunday morning in the heart of Ramat Gan, young Eli, a spirited seven-year-old with a love for soccer, was playing with his friends near a construction site. As children often do, their curiosity led them closer to the site, and before anyone could react, a loose brick fell from an overhead scaffold. Eli was directly in its path.
Our Zaka Tel-Aviv volunteers, were there within seconds. Eli was laying motionless. With precision and care, they cleared the debris, administered CPR, and ensured Eli's safety until the ambulance arrived. Simultaneously, another team member consoled Eli's friends and contacted his parents, offering them the much-needed assurance that their son was being cared for.
The hours that followed were tense, but thanks to the swift response and expertise of our team, Eli is now on a steady path to recovery. His story is a testament to the countless lives touched by the dedication and commitment of Zaka Tel-Aviv.
Yet, this is just one of the many stories that unfold daily. Our volunteers are always at the ready, but the resources required to maintain this level of readiness come at a cost.
And this is where you come in.
Your support can make a tangible difference. It can equip our volunteers with the tools they need, provide essential training, and ensure that when the next call comes in, we are ready to respond.
