Every vote matters, Voornaam. I should know â when I ran in my first primary election to serve in the Oregon State Legislature, I won that race by just seven votes. Seven votes! So when I say that every vote matters, trust me: I know from experience. That's why I called voters on Tuesday with the Democratic Party of Oregon, and I'm asking you: Will you do the same? You can help turn out Democratic voters and win the 2022 election!
The stakes of this year's election couldn't be higher: We've got to stop a MAGA takeover of the U.S. House and Senate by increasing our majorities. Once we do that, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will keep delivering victories on health care, climate, and the economy for all Americans. Here in Oregon, we have a critical race for governor: Tina Kotek will build on our shared values by continuing her successful record of creating education and economic opportunities for Oregonians, defending reproductive rights, addressing the housing crisis, fighting climate change, and improving access to health care and mental health services. Oregon has had our fair share of close elections over the last few years. In 2016, two Oregon State Senate elections were decided by fewer than 400 votes. And in 2018, an Oregon State Senate race was decided by just 209 votes! The Democratic Party of Oregon is ready to run their massive voter mobilization efforts over the next two months, but they need you to help and volunteer to make sure we can reach as many Oregon Democratic voters as possible this fall. Sign up at dpo.org/Volunteer, or click here to find an upcoming volunteer event. Thanks, â Kate
