Everything found in Nothing
"Open to the awareness of the GAPS"

You have all experienced it! You forget a
name or a word or a song title. Then later
when you relax, do some mundane task or take
a shower - AH-HA - out of the blue it comes
to you. Been there. Done that. Too many
times.

In hindsight what happens is in our
busyness, anxiety, emotions, not paying
attention, tensions, unconscious patterns
and conditioning, etc. we lose our train of
thought and in the fullness of our mind and
emotions, it disappears until we find space
for it to reappear.

This article is about creating space in our
minds, hearts, ego, breath, awareness and
subconscious mind to experience more life,
love, light, soul, spirit, intuition,
synchronicities and miracles that are our
birthright and are continuously available to us.

Mind Gaps
Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Osho and
others talk about the GAP between our
thoughts and our breaths. When our mind
slows down and for a few seconds stands
still, we have access to a different realm
and a connection to a new level of mind,
possibilities and spirit. We are touching
present moment awareness that leads to
intuition, soul and spirit.

There are literally hundreds of ways our
mind keeps us overwhelmed - judging,
seeking, wanting, comparing, monkey mind,
defending, etc.

Just think if you could ask questions and
have your highest guidance or intuition
answer - any question you want. After all
like a hologram all parts are in the whole,
the oneness and allness is in you. You are
as powerful as soul and source. It is all
available to you now. You need only ask, be
calm and listen.

So one of our most powerful practices is
many times a day to - STOP and ASK and
LISTEN. To start you may have to learn how
to listen and trust yourself.

As we are overwhelmed, busy, stressed,
multi-tasking, judging, we pack our
thoughts together tightly and they do not
develop their openness, freedom, gladness,
flow and peace of mind.

To open the gap between thoughts, spend more
time at peace, in meditation, being the
watcher and observer of your thoughts.

Go another step further. Ask yourself
questions, relax and be ready to write
down your answers. Just make them up.
Answers come from somewhere! And open to
possibilities, healing, joy, balance,
creativity, purpose, inspiration...

Breath Gaps
Here are 4 ways to breath to find your most
inviting and insightful breath gaps.

  1. Do deep, forced INHALES, hold, and
exhale two times longer and be aware of the
transition points at the end of inhales and
    exhales.
  2. Do deep, forced EXHALES, and again be
aware of the transition points at the end
    of inhales and exhales.
  3. Now do both a forced inhale and forced
    exhale and be aware.
  4. Finally just be breathed and watch your
    normal unforced, natural breathing.

This can be a great meditation or relaxation
process. Get to know your 15,000 breaths
per day.

Time Gaps
Do you have an awareness ritual at least
once during each hour, day, week, month,
quarter and year? Are you aware of the
transitions or cusping of cycles? I write
this article/blog on a new moon's energy of
relaxing, reflecting and new beginnings.
Have you noticed the one evening where the
sliver of a moon disappears - when there is
a gap in its light? An auspicious time we do
not celebrate, like the full moon.

For 1 hour per day, 3 hours power week,
half a day per month have a routine of
rejuvenation, review, re-planning, learning,
celebration, etc.

Ego Gaps
I know my ego well. It has played with my
spiritual growth for many years. As I
stretch my ego's reach and learn something
new and become braver, ego takes over and
takes ownership of it. As I realize the
power of soul and spirit, my ego finally
brings that into its control centre and
takes credit for it and lets me loose again
on my tether so I get just enough juices and
learning in my life to keep me somewhat
motivated and happy.

Yet in hindsight I am still stuck in
mediocrity. My ego is much smarter than I
give it credit for. It plays me like a
finely tuned fiddle. It uses me to make it
smarter.

Examine this list of attributes of the ego
and write down which ones you have
experienced within you or towards others:
manipulation, judgment, control, has to be
right, seeks recognition, comparing,
compulsive, sets boundaries, self-centered,
opinionated, attached.

Find ego gaps through humility, discipline
relaxation, meditation and willpower.

Subconscious Gaps
I feel over 99% of what we do, think and say
is controlled by our subconscious mind.

Want to see how cluttered, limited and
distorted your subconscious mind is? From
the list of the following limitations and
conditioning write down at least one block
or negative for each of these types of
blocks - defenses, emotional reactions,
excuses, fears, justifiers, pains, self-
sabotage, stress, worry, victimhood,
limiting beliefs, weaknesses, challenges,
pet peeves, tensions, addictions, conflict,
anger, control, sadness, judging, lack of
commitment, lack of confidence, living in
the past, mediocrity, negativity,
procrastination, dislike others, compromise,
lack of discipline, lack of trust,
perfectionism, selfishness, guilt, impatience,
inertia, resentment, doubt, busyness, attachments,
codependency ...
AND I am less than half done my list.

For a clear picture of how the subconscious
mind works, read about the "A" Model of
Life.
The main message is that spirit,
soul, intuition, love, beauty, life -
everything must pass THROUGH its filters,
limiting beliefs, conditioning, self-
sabotaging behaviors, defences, (your
answers to the above blocks) etc. And as
love comes through your above filters, you
get to experience the distorted, filtered
left over result.

We rarely see the world as it truly is. I
highly recommend a major goal in all of our
lives, no matter how spiritual you think you
are, is to heal and integrate subconscious
blocks - to make the subconscious mind more
transparent so love, intuition, miracles,
etc. can flow distortion-free right on
through to our everyday awareness and
experiences, instead of being blocked by our
limited worthiness, readiness and
willingness.

Try creating your own sacred space to honor
yourself, your environment, abundance and
spirit available to you. Rituals like this
are very powerful as they create a space in
your symbolic subconscious mind. Have
healing processes you use daily.

Space, Environment Gaps
A very popular metaphor for creating space
in your life so miracles have a place to
appear is creating space in your environment.
Take as little as a few minutes daily to clean out
and create order in a closet, drawer,
files, desk, email inbox, etc. It feels
so good and freeing when done. Take a few
hours or half a day and clean out a room,
garage, car, yard, etc. and again pat
yourself on your back as you allow beauty,
order, cleanliness, come to the surface,
instead of passing the car or drawer that
takes a bite out of your self-image. Nature
abhors a vacuum. Your miracles, desires,
wishes are ready to come into your life, if
you have some space in your environment,
time and most importantly, your psyche.

Your Sacred Spot
Do you have your own sanity spot, sacred
site, grounding routine, zone, honor
yourself hideout, etc. a place where you
allow all gaps to happen all at once. When I
sit in the sun or in nature by myself and
sometimes when I have a beer on a patio
deck - I go immediately into an altered
state of deep breaths, appreciation, deep
connection, a quick prayer to connect to
higher wisdom and I bask in divine presence
and most of the time write on a blank page
the inspiration and ideas that come to me.

Overlap Gap
This is more like a tension gap. We
experience it often. Our life is full of
cycles - daily, weekly, moon waxing and
waning, seasons, consciousness cycles,
numerology cycles and many astrological
cycles. And as they merge from one cycle to
another, it is called 'cusping' where the
cycles transition from one energy or meaning
to another and reach a point of balanced
tension, such as waking up, going to sleep,
a weekend, a month end review.

Become aware of the 11th hour, the point of
no return, the tension and duality of both
cycles active at once and how you
transition.

Conscious Awareness Gaps
Finally something you have more control over
- your awareness - if you stop and pay
attention. If you slow down the external
distractions, reactive triggers, texting,
emails, media, pity parties, watching the
clock, etc. unique awareness moments are
everywhere. Set up your own triggers to be
aware of being aware.

A very powerful state to be in is to be the
watcher or observer. To step back from
yourself and watch yourself being aware.
Watch yourself respond to life instead of
being immersed in life unconsciously. Your
insights are often profound as you meet a
new part of you.

The life you desire is touching you in many
ways. Practice stopping and paying attention
and being aware of a new level of life.
Stop, take a deep breath and create breaks
in your inner breathing, ego, time,
environment, subconscious mind and
awareness. Shift your attention into the
inner instead of outer world. Find the new
level of power, intuition and stillness you
have been searching for. It is in you
wanting to serve you. Be touched by
intuition and guidance and love and beauty.
It is always knocking on your door, so just
let it in.

So explore new horizons. Open your new
secret doors. Widen gaps to insights,
reflection and intuition. When you get a few
minutes go explore inwardly.

One of my favorite authors lately is Richard
Wagamese with this message about the GAP.

"I don't know the word for it, that space
between seconds, but I've come to understand
for myself that it's the punctuation of my
life. Between each word, each thought, each
moment, is where the truth of things lies.
The more intent I am on hearing it, seeing
it, feeling it, incorporating it, the more
precise the degree to which I'm focused on
my life and the act of living. I want to
dive into those small bits of silence. They
contain the ocean of my being and our
togetherness. So if I don't respond quickly,
excuse me. I'm busy allowing the surf of
consciousness to break over me so that I can
stand on the coast of our unity and be
more."
