Prime minister Malcolm Fraser did not succumb to an invitation to dine on fresh Vegemite sandwiches and lamingtons, reported The Canberra Times on this day 49 years ago. The then prime minister, minister for the capital territory Mr Hodgman, and minister for social security Senator Chancy, could not be tempted from their official duties.
