Nov. 30, 2021 St. Paul School Board members have signaled they may reject much of a downsizing proposed by the district's administration. Some board members unveiled an alternative Monday night to the Envision SPPS plan rolled out this fall by Superintendent Joe Gothard. That plan proposed closing a number of schools and distributing students to other locations, to create bigger programs and respond to declining enrollment. Board members expressed doubts, but administrators say the economics can’t be put off. A vote is scheduled for Wednesday.
