Hello, Hope this message finds you well and buzzing with anticipation for what lies ahead! We're excited to share some developments about the evolving landscape of the Mozilla Festival in 2024. Changes in the Air: This year, we're bringing MozFest closer to you with not one, but two in-person events! The first is in June in The Netherlands, and the second at the end of this year in Zambia. And that's not all—brace yourself for a series of engaging virtual events each month! Stay tuned to our MozFest Discord community for the latest updates — it's where the magic happens! Sharpening Focus: Togetherness and Solidarity In 2024, MozFest is all about solidarity, recognizing the significance of coming together locally and globally. Our focus is on building connections, strengthening relationships, and creating sustainable political power, both in-person and virtually. This theme will run through all of our MozFest offerings, tying each event together across the year. Together, we envision a future filled with opportunity and abundance, prioritising people and the environment over money and machines. Our aim is to reshape policy decisions, support truly open technological tools, and change who is building tech in the first place, thereby rewriting the rules for AI. To get a chance to know more about our new theme and 18-month plan, we are planning a community call, hosted on our MozFest Discord community in late February - stay tuned for more details on how to join. We can't wait to embark on this journey with you! Let's shape the future together! J. Bob Alotta Senior Vice President, Global Programs Mozilla |
