The British Council’s Architecture, Design and Fashion team has supported presentations by UK architects and designers across ten international platforms since 2016 through our biennales and festivals grants.

We’re awarding grants of up to £5,000 to support biennales and festivals in the UK to present work by international designers, and biennales and festivals outside the UK to present work by UK designers.

Meet our new Head of Arts!

We are delighted to introduce our new Head of Arts, Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan. He is a cultural producer and researcher with an impressive track record, who has produced creative projects through curating performances, programming exhibitions, and worked closely with local and international artists in arts and cultural sectors.

Meet our delegate to the upcoming Glasgow International

We are pleased to share that the British Council in the Philippines is supporting Antares Bartolome to Glasgow International's International Delegate Programme.

Among his activities in the biennial, Antares will be participating in a free talk and discussion by Enzo Camacho and Ami Lien, along with Lisa Ito-Tapang, Donna Miranda, and Angelo Suarez on 11 June 2024, at 18:00 PM (BST).

Attend the opening of 'God Save the Queers, Bless the Badings'

Artists and art lovers, be sure to check out the opening of exhibition 'God Save the Queers, Bless the Badings' from our Connections Through Culture (CTC) grantee ELEPHANT, along with their partners INFERNO LONDON. The exhibit celebrates queerness, queer art, and faith.

The month-long exhibition opens on 7 June 2024 at 18:00 PM (PHST) in Gravity Arts Space.

Meet our two delegates to the Music Festival delegation

We are happy to share that we had two Philippine representatives, Nicole Sarmiento and Joff Cruz, who visited the UK as part of the British Council's ASEAN-UK Advancing Creative Economy Music Festival delegation, which took place from 9-19 May 2024, and included FOCUS Wales and The Great Escape Festival.

British Council supports PCIDC through delegation visit to the UK

The British Council is proud to support the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC) in forging partnerships in the UK. The delegation, organised by the British Council and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), visited London, Edinburgh and Dundee from 8-10 May 2024. It aims to enable government representatives to tap into the UK’s thriving creative ecosystem and forge partnerships with key UK institutions to advance the country’s creative economy agenda.
