11 TEENS DEAD IN FOUR YEARS. THIS IS THE BRUTAL REALITY OF SYDNEY’S POSTCODE WARS.

Gangsters shooting gangsters is one thing but when teenagers are killing each other on our streets, we must open our eyes to the problem, we must act.

Our new documentary The War: Young Blood is a harrowing look at the deaths of 11 young males in four years, mainly victims of postcode gang violence and the growing use of knives.

We look at how kids fall into these gangs as soon as primary school. That means that by their early 20s they're moving up the ranks of gang life and being roped into much larger syndicates, like the Alameddine and Hamzy groups.

Like our first documentary series – The War – this sequel maps the connections of individuals, the gangs and their victims. We also explain the crucial role drill rap music and social media play in these feuds.

It is much more than a police problem.

Parents and educators have to address it and rappers and social media platforms have to take responsibility for their role in promoting this culture too.
