Yesterday we asked: "Who donates Edinburgh's Christmas tree that sits on the mound? And for an extra point - why is it donated? 

The answer is: Vestland County Council in Norway. The tradition of gifting the tree to Edinburgh began in 1947 as a token of gratitude for Scotland's assistance during World War II.
