Click here Β Β Screen International invites you to an exclusive virtual FYC screening for the film Flee This screening is open to awards voters and industry professionals and will be available for 24 hours after the start time. Flee β Mar 7, 3pm UK time Flee is a hand-drawn hybrid documentary story about a young refugeeβs journey from Afghanistan to Denmark decades ago. The 36-year-old subject, Amin Nawabi (a pseudonym), is an old school friend of director Rasmussen and agrees to tell a personal story of persecution and escape on the condition that his identity would not be revealed. The film received a Cannes 2020 label and was selected for Sundanceβs World Cinema Documentary Competition, where it won the Grand Jury Prize, before going on to become a major force in the awards race. It earned Oscar nominations for best animated feature, documentary feature and international feature β the first film ever to do so - as well as two Bafta nominations. It has already won prizes at Denmarkβs Robert Awards, the BIFAs, the European Film Awards and the Gothams. Neon released the film in the US on December 3, where it has passed $330,000 at the box office. Screen International has partnered with film market platform Archipel Market on a series of screenings focused on the awards race.
