| As a catastrophic tornado approached a Kentucky candle factory on Friday, employees heard the warning sirens and sought to leave the building. But supervisors warned employees they would be fired if they left their shifts early, according to at least four employees. Fearing for their safety, some in fact left during their shifts. At least eight people died in the factory, which is owned by Mayfield Consumer Products. |
