The Light Under the Sun Featuring Serena Wiley

Serena Wiley returns to the series with new and continuing members of The Light Under the Sun, a combined group of emerging young artists who expressively create a great synergy of substance which is unique and lively specializing in Jazz, Hip Hop, and Rhythm and Blues. Serena is an accomplished saxophonist with many high profile dates with artists that include Branford Marsalis, Fred Wesley, Antonio Hart, Rene Marie, Nnenna Freelon, Carolyn Malachi, and many more.

Celebrating the state's contemporary artists, the N.C. Arts Council Fellowship 2017 Award Exhibition features the work of seventeen artists from across NC: ten visual artists, three craft artists, two lm/video artists and two choreographers. Since the inception of the fellowship program in 1980, the Arts Council has given over 600 awards to North Carolina artists. This exhibition highlights the importance of artists to the cultural fabric of our state.
