It can be a long road from submitting your application for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant to hearing whether your application is funded. One estimate is that it can take about 8 months (or longerin some instances, up to 20 months) after an applications due date to receive an award (per the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases).
