The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota says it has been taking in one to three birds a daystricken with avian influenza. Many are severely ill and suffering from seizures. 

Executive director Victoria Hall says staff have never seen this much transmission during an avian flu outbreak. She urges people to take extra measures to protect songbirds and other bird species by not filling their backyard bird feeders for a while.

Maplewood police on Wednesday released body camera video showing officers handcuffing four children between the ages of 10 and 16 while they were investigating a call about gunshots. The children’s parents are demanding an apology from police and are seeking changes to the way officers handle encounters with minors.
