A Message From the Editor

Good morning. With the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) recent lawsuit against two gen AI music companies, we're now up to 26 lawsuits in the AI copyright infringement realm. This lawsuit is a bit unique, however, and not only because it's targeting AI-created music. It’s one of the few AI copyright lawsuits primarily targeting the input of AI systems, specifically focusing on data scraping, as opposed to their outputs. And as LTN's Isha Marathe explores in today's featured article, experts are divided over the strength of the RIAA’s legal strategy.
