Note from the ACDIS Director | ACDIS Regulatory Committee—the voice of CDI advocacy | by Brian Murphy It’s easy to complain about CMS rules, regulations, and coding guidance from the likes of the Cooperating Parties or the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Coding Clinic. Certainly, over the years we’ve seen guidance we’ve disagreed with, or believed to be arbitrary or incongruent with clinical practice. But complaining is ultimately empty and counterproductive, and a guarantee that nothing will change. On the other hand, you can do something about it, like the great work the ACDIS Regulatory Committee is doing. |

| Blog Highlight | Here's what's been published on the ACDIS Blog in the last week: ACDIS tip: Cytokine release syndrome due to COVID-19 Patience required for onboarding and mentoring new CDI staff Do you have a tip, story, or perspective to share with the broader ACDIS and CDI community? If you’re interested in writing a piece for the Blog, here are a couple guidelines for you: Length: Typically, 500-700 words. If your post is longer, we may break it into two posts for readability. Content: All things CDI (and coding too)! We love hearing about your experiences and the lessons you’ve learned about CDI along the way. Besides those two guidelines, all you have to do is submit your piece to ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org) and Associate Editor Carolyn Riel (criel@acdis.org). | |
