Extra Discounts for Business Rates Relief Scheme The Scottish Government has introduced extra rates relief discounts to help owners of certain non-domestic properties, including businesses, deal with the impact of coronavirus. 100 per cent rates relief will be available to retail, hospitality, leisure and eligible aviation businesses until at least 31st March 2022. From April 2021, you need to fill in an application form with your local council to receive this relief. |

Self-Employment Income Support Scheme Applications have now closed for the fourth grant. A fifth grant covering May 2021 to September 2021 will be open to claims from late July 2021. If you're a self-employed individual or a member of a partnership and have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, you can apply for a taxable grant through the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS). Fife Town Centre Building Improvement Grant Launched Fife Council has launched its Town Centre Building Improvement Grant and is encouraging small businesses and property owners to apply for a small grant to help improve or develop their property within one of Fife’s key town centres or other local centre boundaries. Grant awards will be made in the range of £6,000 up to a maximum of £10,000 per eligible property. The intervention rate is 90 per cent of eligible costs, excluding VAT. Click here to find out more |

VAT Changes for Hospitality Industry The government has confirmed the temporary reduced rate of 5 per cent has been extended, and will now apply to transactions between 15th July 2020 and 30th September 2021.
