Each year in Formula 1 we see a new aerodynamic battleground emerge following a rule change, and this season the most visually-obvious one is the shape of teams’ floor edges.
The opening grand prix of the season in Bahrain revealed a 50-50 split between teams, who have reacted to the 2021 floor reduction by either simply tapering their edges to fit the new rules or creating a Z-shape profile.
