White House confirms UAE fifth freedom assurance, not ‘routes freeze’

In its third version this week of what was agreed between the US and the United Arab Emirates on their Open Skies aviation deal, the White House now says there is an “understanding” that UAE airlines have “no current plans” to add fifth freedom flights, but makes no mention of a routes freeze.


FAA, EASA move up deadline for initial CFM56 fan-blade checks

FAA and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), acting on engine manufacturer CFM International's recommendations, have mandated a tighter timeline for initial inspections of higher-time CFM56-7B fan blades.

WestJet to launch first CPA with Pacific Coastal in June
