Amid Boycott Pressure, Facebook Agrees to Brand Safety Audit

Good morning,

Facebook has (verbally) agreed to a brand safety audit by the Media Rating Council.

The social media company says it up for the audit to include “partner and content monetization policies and the brand safety controls we make available to advertisers."

It's been a years-long fight by the MRC to get Facebook on board with this particular audit, but the platform only agreed to do it in recent days.

Hmm, I wonder what has happened in the meantime to get them on board?

I'll say this: despite the formal Stop Hate for Profit boycott campaign beginning yesterdaymore brands are still mulling over whether they should join and boycott Facebook and other platforms. Here's a running list of brands that have joined in case you haven't been keeping up.

Need a break? Philadelphia's Gritty got a makeover.
