Space cookies and muscular mice: Only at NASA

What has NASA been up to since the last time we went to the moon? A lot, apparently, and mostly in relation to the International Space Station and our experiments in zero gravity. Just recently, with help from SpaceX, NASA announced a cargo ship would be returning to Earth from the ISS soon with several gifts from the astronauts onboard. First are honest-to-goodness space cookies baked in zero gravity! No word on how they taste or what the texture is like, but the folks on the ground at NASA are eager to take a bite.

The next item: super mice. No seriously, these mice are genetically engineered with increased muscle mass to test the effects of zero gravity on body resistance. Apparently, scientists here on Earth are more interested in seeing the buff mice than they are in eating space cookies. It goes to show where NASA’s priorities are. No wonder we haven’t been back to the moon!

The moon landing was a miracle, but Nixon had other plans in case it didn’t work out.
