Novel virus, novel solution: Front-line doctor discovers new way to self-isolateFront-line medical workers are some of the people most heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their work takes a massive toll on their minds, bodies and spirits, and that’s not even including the risk that they pose to their families after exposure to the novel virus. But one physician in Corpus Christi, Texas came up with an ingenious way to self-isolate while still spending time with his family. Dr. Jason Barnes built a treehouse in his backyard for his two grade school-aged sons and saw that it would be high enough in the air to safely distance himself from others. He has now spent three weeks sleeping in the treehouse, shouting down to his family members below. It’s comfortable and well-insulated, but the boys aren’t all that thrilled about losing access to their treehouse for the time being. Still, their sacrifice is for the greater good, and at least dad can spend time with the family this way. Talk about going out on a limb for their health! The Barnes family treehouse is nice, but it’s got nothing on these luxury accommodations. Tap or click here to see if you’d spend a night in this luxury treehouse. → |
