Facebook Tests Skippable Mid-Roll, In-Stream Video Ads
 

Facebook is beta testing an option to skip mid-roll ads after it's viewed for five seconds. See an example of what that looks like here.

In other news, last week was a tough one for the media industry with layoffs at companies that included Quartz, Condé Nast, The Economic Group, Vice and BuzzFeed. Those cuts come after many of those businesses, and other media organizations, have tried to reduce costs in the form of pay cuts and furloughs.

In other news, Google will get more aggressive in taking down ads that it determines are "resource-heavy" for the user and ad tech companies are bracing for more investigations into the programmatic supply chain.
