On Thursday, March 26th Wake County issued a Stay at Home Proclamation to help slow the spread of COVID-19. You can view the official document here.
The proclamation will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 27th and is scheduled to last through April 16th.
Golf was mentioned specifically in the proclamation that you can still play and golf has been deemed an activity or task "essential to the support, health, safety and welfare of Wake County residents". We have decided to stay open and in doing so we will have to adjust our policies to maintain social distancing and to provide our employees and customers with the safest environment as possible.
Effective Friday, March 27th beginning at 5:00 PM we will have the following procedures in place that you must adhere to.
1. All check-in for golf will be done over the phone. Call 919-846-8376 extension 2 to do so. The last range bucket will be sold at 5:00 PM and we plan to sell the range balls from the starter shed throughout the day. The starter shed is located directly behind the first tee.
The clubhouse will be locked at 5:30 PM each night.
2. Walking is still allowed at anytime and we encourage all golfers to walk. If walking is not an option, we will allow use of a golf cart (one per person) unless you come with a family member or trusted partner.
Carts will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Earlier tee times in the day will have priority over ones later in the day. We will not allow you to get a cart until you check in and pre-booking a tee time does not mean a cart will be reserved for you.
As a suggestion, if you have to share a cart with someone, try walking a hole and then riding a hole alternating who drives the golf cart every other hole.
After 5:30 PM, only walking will be allowed and you must call in to the golf shop to check in before 5:30 PM. This is to allow enough time each night to sanitize all cart surfaces, range baskets, range balls, and the clubhouse.
3. Gatherings of all kinds are prohibited. There can be no mingling of guests before or after your round. We ask that upon completion of your round you return to your car to exit the property.
We ask that you dispose of your own trash before returning the golf cart.
4. The golf shop is closed during this time except to answer telephone calls for people checking in and reserving tee times. We ask that anyone who has a bag or walking cart in club storage to please take those items home with you the next time you play.
The putting green located behind the driving range is closed until further notice.
5. Our food and beverage operation, Champions Grille, will continue to offer take out and delivery options. The back patio door will remain open so that you can use the bathroom facilities until 5:30 PM. Access to the golf shop will be blocked off.
Champions Grille will have limited operational hours beginning Saturday, March 28th. The grille will be open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM for take out and delivery only. Please call Champions Grille at 919-390-0347 to place your to-go or delivery order.
Please adhere to the regulations above so that we can move beyond this pandemic as quickly as we can!
