Over half the world’s total GDP is dependent on nature, which means the economy is alarmingly exposed to risks from today’s unprecedented and catastrophic loss of biodiversity. | | | Closing Asia's Ivory Markets Although China banned its domestic ivory trade at the end of 2017, there is still an active illegal market for African ivory in Asia that is fueled in large part by Chinese consumers. Recognizing this link between poaching and markets, WWF has committed to reducing demand for ivory in Asia, specifically in China.
