Good morning. Faith Ringgold passed away earlier this month at the age of 93, but the legacy of her illustrated quilts and canvases and her commitment to Black feminist activism lives on. Writer and former Hyperallergic editor Jasmine Weber, who remembers reading Ringgold’s Tar’s Beach (1991) picture book as a child and interviewed the artist at her home in New Jersey in 2019, reflects on her most enduring lessons.
