A low bar to clear: Law school dean embarrasses students Passing the bar exam is one of the most challenging steps to becoming a lawyer in America. The test is difficult and not everyone passes the first time. The only thing worse than failing the exam, though, is everyone else knowing you failed — and that’s exactly what happened recently at the University of South Carolina School of Law. The dean accidentally forwarded an email containing names of students who didn’t pass. Apparently the email was supposed to be a positive announcement about the fact that 82% of students passed. Unfortunately, the dean got so excited that he didn’t realize he made the private results public. How embarrassing!
