Waffle home: Americaâs favorite diner shows us the kindness of strangersWaffle House is a beloved American institution. It never closes ever â barring natural disasters, of course. Thereâs even a âWaffle House Indexâ that ranks the severity of disasters on how many Waffle Houses it shutters! So when one employee is left to run the entire diner by himself, the show must unfortunately go on. This happened to a worker in Birmingham, Alabama, who was left all alone on his shift, thanks to a scheduling error. It was late in the evening when a large crowd of inebriated customers entered the restaurant, but a good Samaritan who also came in decided to lend him a hand. The visitor asked for an apron and got to work serving customers alongside the overwhelmed employee. Soon, even more customers followed suit by washing dishes and bussing tables. A heartwarming story, but it just goes to show you: The easiest way into a personâs heart is through their stomachs. If you donât live in a state with Waffle House, youâre sorely missing out. Click or tap to see why people love this 24/7 diner so much. â |
