The World Peace Game Foundation reached a huge milestone in August: the inaugural World Peace Game and master class with John Hunter was held August 7-11 in Tokyo, Japan. For the Foundation, this was a dream come true: a chance to share the Game with educators and thus extend the message of the World Peace Game Foundation to Japanese children. The weeks’ events were even more poignant given that the WPG and master class were held during the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The Foundation was hosted by Shibuya Junior and Senior High School, an independent school in Tokyo. The master class participants included teachers from public and private schools across Japan and Taiwan.

| Two World Peace Game Facilitators, Rina Mochizuki and Marika Taniguchi, led the way for the World Peace Game and master class in Asia. Both Rina and Marika are experienced World Peace Game facilitators who have seen firsthand how students are transformed by participating in the Game. From crowdfunding for expenses, to identifying a host school, to recruitment of teachers and students, to working with press, they were a tireless in their determination and advocacy for the WPG. One of our favorite events that they organized was an afternoon program that featured a panel of WPG alumni who had played the WPG over the past year. Thank you to Rina and Marika! |

NHK, Japan’s largest broadcasting organization, developed two terrific segments about the WPG and John Hunter. Tune into the NHK Newsroom Tokyo segment, “Planting the Seeds of World Peace” and NHK Direct Talk segment, “Teaching for World Peace” to hear more.
