Part 1: Scarecrow Building and Pumpkin Decorating October 3 3-3:45 pm & 4-4:45 pm Part 2: Halloween Family Fun Fest October 24 3-3:45 pm & 4-4:45 pm Part 3: Halloween Costume Family Fun Walk October 31 10-10: 45 & 11-11:45 am You must pre-register for each Halloween Hoopla event. Time slots will be capped at 50 people. All participants must wear masks when arriving at events and checking in. BOO! in a Bag NEW! The Deerfield Park District has everything your little ones will need to celebrate and enjoy a fun, safe and festive Halloween at home. Each BOO in a Bag includes: Halloween Treats Spooky Crafts Recipes and Activities Fun and Safe Halloween Toys BOO Bags are $10 and will go on sale October 1. Bags can be purchased at the Jewett Park Community Center front desk Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. Bags will be available for purchase through October 23.

Safe Sitter Clinic Safe Sitter prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. Magic Class Learn fascinating card, rope, coin, mind-reading, and other tricks from a professional magician. Amaze family and friends! Children are grouped by age and taught age appropriate tricks. November 6 6:30-8pmFamilies will enjoy an evening together crafting and decorating sweet treats! Families will be given their own space and materials. Tables will be spaced for physical distancing. The Patty Turner Center is proud to announce a re-opening plan starting today, Monday September 14. Advanced registration is required to participate in all in-person programs. Classes will be limited to 10 participants and reservations will be taken over the phone on a first-come first-serve basis. Masks and social distancing are required. The Rules of the Road Review Course is designed to give senior citizens the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license. The review course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam. This review course and the materials are free. We are so excited to hold our annual car show in the Patty Turner Center parking lot! Join us as we step back in time and learn the history of some of our favorite car makes and models. To accommodate patrons safely, this event will be divided into two time blocks; 9-9:45am and 10-10:45am. Each time block will be capped at 50 participants.
