Kick Off Fall with Us Tomorrow: Food, Crafts, and Fun!

Join us in celebrating local Black-owned businesses tomorrow at Pop-Ups on the Plaza: Fall Kickoff! From jerk fried chicken wings at Lil'Alijo to Trinidadian street food from TriniGirlDoubles, the Embarcadero Ferry Terminal Plaza (south of the Ferry Building) will be filled with a wide variety of delicious food. Be sure to also check out the front of the Ferry Building for the In The Black craft market, family activities, and free cooking demos.

Want a taste of tomorrow's festivities? Hear from some of our participating vendors like Bruthas Honey, Gourmonade, The Final Sauce, and Belle Noire in this video! They will be among the 20+ talented entrepreneurs from our vibrant Bay Area community featured at Fall Kickoff. Entry is free and open to the public, with food and drink available for purchase.

Fall Kickoff comes with two back-to-back demos! Stop by the Foodwise Classroom tomorrow at 11 am for a demo with Kaliva Morgan of Evolution Hot Sauce, followed by Sital Muktari of That Hausa Vegan at 12 pm. Free samples and recipes will be available for all.

Foodwise Sunday Supper Is Coming Up on October 20!

Support local farms, food access, and youth education, and do it deliciously at our Sunday Supper fundraising gala! Join Foodwise at the Ferry Building for a four-course feast prepared by 30 of the Bay Area's best restaurants, showcasing the bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Shira-Ae with Local Green Beans

This light, meal-prep-friendly salad uses tofu, green beans, dashi, and soy sauce for an easy dish that can be enjoyed at any time of day. David Yoshimura of Nisei demonstrated this recipe using Hodo tofu from the farmers market.

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market: Featured Vendors

Flora Gelateria had its grand opening at last Saturday's farmers market! You can try Christine Law's gelato, made with farmers market ingredients, on a warm and fresh waffle. Find Flora Gelateria on Saturdays in the front plaza.

This year, Hodo celebrates its 20th anniversary! Watch this video with founder Minh Tsai talking about their roots in the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and visit them on Saturdays to try their new dips.

Mission Community Market: Featured Vendors

Fall Vegetables at Green Thumb Farms

Rudy Jimenez focuses on traditional farming methods based on Indigenous roots. Visit Green Thumb Farms on Thursdays at the Mission Community Market, or on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Ferry Plaza.

Bilal and Rafia Sabir specialize in handcrafted pies and vegan desserts, including the "No Cookie" which is available in stores nationwide. Visit them at the Ferry Plaza on Saturdays, or the Mission Market on Thursdays.
