| | DC library holds LGBT pride parade for children | Several branches in the District of Columbia Public Library System held a children's LGBT pride parade over the weekend, encouraging young people to participate and wear rainbow-themed costumes to represent their "most fabulous self." Listen to the full story now. | Mom of child who shot teacher to plead guilty to federal charges | The mother whose 6-year-old son shot his first-grade teacher at a Virginia elementary school in January will plead guilty to making a false statement that she was not an unlawful drug user when she purchased the firearm used in the attack on the teacher. Court records show that Deja Taylor, 25, was using marijuana when she purchased the gun; Taylor falsely claimed she was not. She has reportedly been charged with illegally using drugs while owning a firearm and making a false statement when purchasing the gun. Read more. |

| | Christian and Missionary Alliance says 'yes' to female pastors | Delegates at the General Council for the Christian and Missionary Alliance voted to allow women to serve in pastoral roles last week. More than 60% of delegates approved updating the CMA Statement of Faith to reflect that, at the discretion of local church leadership, official workers, whether male or female, may use the title of "pastor" or "reverend" for specific ministry roles. Women may be ordained for pastoral roles with the exception of senior/lead pastor roles. | | 'Fantasy': Arnold Schwarzenegger denies Heaven exists | Actor and former Republican California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called Heaven a "fantasy" during a conversation with actor Danny DeVito that was published in Interview. Despite nearly three-quarters of U.S. adults saying they believe in Heaven, Schwarzenegger doubled down on his belief that "the reality is that we won't see each other again after we're gone." When DeVito pushed back on Schwarzenegger's comments, the actor and former politician clarified he was referring to physical bodies and added that he is uncomfortable with death.
