FATHER & SON CHURCH PIONEERS PASS AWAY FROM COVID SIX DAYS APART IN SAME NEPAL HOSPITAL

Dear Friend,

Right now the evangelical church in Nepal is in serious condition.

As some countries around the world feel like they’re turning the corner on Covid-19, Nepal is one that’s plunging into deep despair and chaos.

With one person dying every 5 minutes, the bodies are literally piling up. Those of Christians are often treated even worse.

Among them are many pastors including revered church planting pioneers whose brave work has helped fuel one of the greatest church growth stories of our times. I received this message from a church leader just recently:
“Pastor Amar Bahadur Fauja (79) died of Covid-19 on Wednesday 12 May. His son Pastor Lok Bahadur Fauja died of Covid-19 on Thursday 6 May (see below). Father and son died in the same hospital. A loving father of the same family and loved son, both went to be with their Lord, from the same family, same Church.

The father, Pastor Amar Fauja, was a renowned Godly pioneering pastor. God used him to start churches with just a very handful of believers in mid-west Nepal. Amidst severe persecution he stood firmly in his faith. Because of his strong leadership and vibrant testimony, God used Amar to stay on the cutting edge of outreach and Church planting ministry.

God used the testimony of an ordinary pastor - Amar Fauja - in our part of the region and province. Today because of his ongoing spiritual leadership, God graced us with 350 plus growing churches in this part of the world. He was a man of faith and man of action. A fearless Saint.” Pray for his wife Manisha (76).”

“Pastor Lok Bahadur Fauja 41 went to be with the Lord on Thursday 6 May 2021 just six days before his father (see above). He was an energetic young pastor, he died of Covid-19 in Surkhet Hospital. This young pastor had shared a compelling vision of his heart with us to launch massive evangelism to reach the upper Himalayan parts of Karnali Province this year and plant churches in those most unreached remote parts of Nepal where the Gospel has never been preached. Pastor Lok leaves a wife of 39 Mina Fauja and three sons - Prakash (20), Sushil (17) and Prashanta (12).”
The apostle Paul encouraged us in his seminal description of the body of Christ, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” (1 Corinthians 12:26)
So we’ve just established the Nepal Pastors Emergency Fund. We’re rushing to get Rev. Tamang funds to:
  • provide personal health kits of masks and antibacterial soap
  • provide food to families including those who’ve lost their father and only bread winner
  • provide medical care – oxygen, medicines, doctor and ambulance fees
You can help with as little as $3.52.

Please help. These are your brothers and sisters.  Please CLICK HERE to send a message of love and hope.  You WILL make a difference.

God bless you,
