A bunch of executive orders and announcements are leaving new marks on Maryland's government — and no, not the orders from Washington.
Gov. Wes Moore's recent flurry of actions include new offices to address broadband infrastructure, as well as a reorganization in the Commerce Department to launch two new divisions for economic growth. Leaders of these new entities believe the moves will help make Maryland more connected and economically stronger.
For instance, Eric Bathras, the head of the Digital Infrastructure Group, said he's creating a "single view" of the state's broadband assets to help different agencies collaborate better.
"We’re taking a playbook from the private industry,” Bathras told Technical.ly. “We’re going to coalesce all of our data assets into a public sector view.”
