How your TV is ruining the movies you watch

How your TV is ruining the movies you watch

It's Saturday night. You sit down in front of your TV and find the latest blockbuster movie on your favorite streaming service. You press play, and, all of a sudden, you notice something looks, well, off. You can't really explain it, but it just looks different than how you remember when you saw it in the theater. It turns out it's a setting on your brand-new, state-of-the-art TV. Why do these settings exist, and what are they doing to your favorite movies?

Drowning in resumes

Q:

I need to hire someone, but I can barely manage all the resumes I get when I post a job online. I stick to the free sites to save cash, but I'm feeling like that's the wrong move. Any advice?

A:

You can attract a lot of candidates on those sites, but as you've found, you won't necessarily get the right ones. It's a ton of work sorting through all of that! You might not even find anyone who fits the job.

When I'm hiring, I use LinkedIn Jobs. It can help by matching your role with qualified candidates so you can find the right person quickly. LinkedIn screens for skills and you can use a ton of different tools to narrow down your search. That means so much less work on your end.

Right now, you can post a job for FREE at LinkedIn.com/Kim.

Expensive car troubles

Q:

I heard you talking about vehicle protection. I have two teenagers, and my wife and I each have our own cars. If someone's car has a big problem — or if more than one of us does — I don't know how we'll afford it. Do you recommend this for us?

A:

The stress of seeing that check engine light come on is real, and that only gets worse with lots of drivers under one roof. When something breaks, it could cost a fortune. That’s where CarShield comes in. They offer customizable and flexible payment plans with no long-term contracts — plus, you can choose your favorite mechanic or dealership to do the work. They also offer complimentary 24/7 roadside assistance and a rental car while yours is being fixed. I LOVE CarShield. They recently took care of a huge repair bill on my mother's old car.

Call 800-CAR-6000 and mention code KIM, or visit CarShield.com and use code KIM to save 10%.

What's that code?

Q:

Hi, Kim! I heard you talk about ExpressVPN but didn't see your code online. How can I get a discount?

A:

Glad to hear you're taking your online privacy seriously. ExpressVPN is so fast and reliable that I forget it's even on. Nothing like using a VPN back in the day ...

Big tech companies match your internet activity to your identity or location by using your public IP address, but with ExpressVPN, no one can see your IP address — no one.

To make it easy, just go to ExpressVPN.com/Kim. No need to put in a special code! Get an extra three months free when you sign up for one year at ExpressVPN.com/Kim.
