US District Judge James Robart has told an attorney for Microsoft engineers who filed a gender-discrimination lawsuit against the company that their contention that Microsoft lacks uniformity in pay and promotions might "drive a wooden stake" through their case, in which they seek class-action status. The Supreme Court stated in 2011 that plaintiffs pursuing class status must prove widespread similar experiences or a corporate policy or action had adversely affected them.
