House Ag Committee Chair Raises Concerns About Biden's Proposed Tax Changes
 
While David Scott (D-GA), chairman of the House Ag Committee, supports Biden's proposed infrastructure plans, he has concerns about the tax changes in the administration's American Families Plan. The proposed plan wants to change the way capital gains taxes are paid and even eliminate the step-up in basis for some. Corn Crop Condition Ratings Fall 4 Points, North Dakota in Worst Shape

As corn planting is complete in many areas, the focus is shifting to crop conditions. USDA's latest weekly report shows the corn crop could be deteriorating — 72% of the corn crop is rated good to excellent, which is a 4 percentage point drop from last week. This week's rating is also 3 points behind last year.

 
 
 

$4 or $8 Corn? $10 or $20 Beans? It All Depends On Weather And Export Demand

Dry weather concerns in the Dakotas and possible ridging in the western Corn Belt has pushed risk premium into the markets. December corn closed at $5.91, up 91¢ in six trading days. That leaves the market 50¢ below the highs from a month ago. November beans also rebounded $1.10 in the last six days and are only 30¢ from its high a month ago.
