Hyperallergic has partnered with the Ford Foundation to publish select pieces from its ongoing series Creative Futures. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Movement for Black Lives, and other epicenters of social upheaval in 2020, the foundation has commissioned 40 provocations from creatives working in journalism, documentary, and arts and culture. These two essays document the current political moment through fresh lenses.
On the theme of “Artmaking,” Coco Fusco argues that establishing new institutions is more important than creating new art.

You also have a little more time left to check out this year’s San Diego Asian Film Festival, which has a terrific lineup.
Your web doc for this week is the latest from Vic Berger, supercut artist extraordinaire, who has made his magnum opus in the form of a feature-length compilation of strangeness from the Trump administration.
