Looking back on LSU's win over McNeese State, and looking ahead to Central Michigan
If your Sunday resembled mine, you spent the day watching former LSU players light up the NFL and thinking about what's going on with the Tigers' current team. First, the NFL highlight: Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase connected for a 50-yard touchdown in the Bengals' season-opening overtime win over the Vikings, beating former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson in the process. Chase and Jefferson exchanged jerseys after the game. LSU would love to have those guys back. The Tigers beat McNeese State this past weekend 34-7, a convincing score if it weren't for the way LSU played on offense. The Tigers showed no signs of progress, though to be fair, they played without three starters on the offensive line. The offensive line became the focus of our film review. For LSU to have a successful season, the group has to protect quarterback Max Johnson better and open more holes for LSU's running backs. The Tigers have a lot of work to do on that side of the ball. Click here for more of our takeaways. The issues may be tested in LSU's upcoming game against Central Michigan. Sheldon Mickles began our coverage of the opponent with a quick look at the Chippewas' offense and defense. There will be much more to come before kickoff. Hope you enjoyed your Sunday as much as Burrow and Chase. Until next time, Wilson Alexander |
