Spotlight on Vivienne Dick

Virtual Film Screening with Artist Vivienne Dick
Wednesday, March 8, 5:30 p.m. ET

Join filmmaker Vivienne Dick for a virtual screening and conversation about her wide-ranging career, starting with her earliest films from the 1970s through 2020’s New York Our Time. Dick captured the birth of the No Wave scene of the 1970s and 80s by focusing on magnetic women rockers from New York’s gritty downtown scene. Saisha Grayson, time-based media curator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, will join Dick in a live discussion on time, memory, and the feminist icons of post-punk New York.

Participants will receive a link with special viewing access to her feature film New York Our Time (2020), from March 1 – March 14, 2023, via email.
