WEALTHTECH

I don't think anyone needs a refresher on the dismal state of diversity in wealth management. And with women, minority and LGBTQ+ advisors still pulling in demographic percentages in the single-digits, there frankly isn't a lot to be said.

The situation is similar within wealthtech, leading individuals and organizations to come up with fresh ideas to address the problem. Those on the front line say the conversation is starting to change, but the work is far from finished.

With that mission in mind, Financial Planning wants to introduce you to the underrepresented folks in fintech who are making it happen, despite the demographics, in a new profile series. This isn't another "people to watch" list. This isn't another top "whatever under whatever" list. This is simply a celebration of people traditionally overlooked by an industry that they've dedicated their lives to.

Let's make sure the entire industry sees you.

Kicking things off for us is Michelle Tran, a Vestwell SVP and the co-founder of NYC Fintech Women — an organization focused on empowering women in the space that has grown to more than 8,000 members after starting with 16 women meeting in a New York bar on a rainy night. Read Michelle's story and find out why her tireless dedication has been a boon to so many.

Do you know someone we should meet? Tell me all about them at justin.mack@arizent.com. Have a fantastic rest of the week. And remember. It's already almost Friday.

Regards,

Justin
